Inspiration for buying a Jeep: Daniel has been modifying vehicles for most of his life. He has had a Honda, Mitsubishi, Audi and then the Jeeps. He loves the lifestyle of being on the road, camping, overlanding and off-roading, etc. In terms of the Jeep, Daniel began to fall in love with landscape photography and according to him, having an offroad vehicle is the key to getting those shots that others cannot get. Once Daniel took his mom’s Jeep out to Los Angeles National Forest on a perfect snowy day, he knew that the Jeep would be the off road vehicle for him.

First adventure with new Jeep: June 2020. He went to Yosemite with one of his friends. On U.S. Route 395 to get there, he saw a lot—from Lone Pine to the Alabama Hills to Bishop and Mammoth.

Most recent adventure: August 2020. His first big trip with the Gladiator, he went to Monache Meadows in the Inu Forest. He drove the trail four times with his family, who came in two other vehicles. He enjoyed capturing the Milky Way, spending time with family and getting away from everything that is going on right now.

Most memorable adventure: December 2020. Daniel went to Yosemite and pretty much had the entire park to himself. He got to see the transition of Fall still happening before Winter would settle in, which was a first for him!

Upcoming trips: Daniel is planning a trip to Death Valley, where he hopes to get a lot of photography in. He wants shots of the sand dunes, race tracks and if they get snow, the Yosemite Firefall. Go look up a picture of it if you have never heard of it—it blew my mind!

Dream trip: His dream trip would be to Iceland because he loves the cold and is a big fan of viking history!

Advice for those who are just beginning overlanding: “Just get out there, it doesn't matter if your vehicle is stock,” “learn what you can from your adventures and eventually you will know what your vehicle might need for future travels.”

#1 place he has camped: Mammoth, CA. You can camp by lakes (June Lake, Twin Lakes, Convict Lakes), Wild Willy's Hot Springs and Owen’s River.

Daniel's dog, Rocket.

Fun fact about: He loves making people laugh.

Jeep club memberships: N/A

Notes from the writer: Daniel absolutely loves getting out on the road, especially with his brother who has a 4Runner and his Blue Heeler, Rocket. You can also tell that he’s got a creative nature, whether that applies to his work on cars or his photography/videos. He keeps a low profile, but he’s been wheeling for quite some time, so make sure to hit him up if you are ever in LA!
