67 Designs in Nate Dodge's Jeep

Customer of 67 Designs since: June 17, 2020.

Inspiration for buying the Jeep: Nate and his dad bought his Jeep together when they were looking for a vehicle to hit some trails in Illinois. They wanted to be able to take the top and doors off and just cruise!

First adventure with vehicle: March 2020. Nate went out to the Moab area for a shoot and got out into the desert. He was able to camp at an amazing site with the crew and do some offroading. He cannot give away the details of the campsite, but it had a massive cliff of red rocks and you could drive down a big sandy hill to set up camp (where you cannot hear or see anyone!).

Most recent adventure/COVID-19 adventures: Nate gets out to Utah all the time and is able to desert camp.

Most memorable adventure: September 2020. Nate did not begin to add modifications until the beginning of last year, so most of his big adventures began once he fully equipped his Jeep. He was able to drive out to Ouray, CO in September with his dad and they tackled 12 of the famous Jeep trails out there.

Upcoming trips: Nate is planning a ski trip to Steamboat Springs and another Utah trip in the spring. He explained that he is “so close [to Utah] that any opportunity they get, they do it. You could spend a lifetime in Southern Utah and not see everything.”

Dream trip: Nate would love to take a trip to Alaska, leaving from Boulder and driving the west coast up to Alaska. He has wanted to go for a long time.

Advice for those who are just beginning overlanding: “Do not get caught up with modding the vehicle, I drove it stock for years and it was just fine. If you have a good set of tires and 4WD, you can go anywhere.”

#1 place he has camped: Wind River Range in WY.

Fun fact about Nate: He owns 8 or 9 film cameras and hasn't taken a photo on a single one of them. Guess they just look good on shelves!

Jeep club memberships: Colorado Jeep Club.

Notes from the writer: Nate leads a pretty awesome life because his work is his play. Despite graduating college with a Computer Science degree, studying abroad with his camera in New Zealand got him hooked on photography and helped him decide his career. He never thought he could make a lifestyle out of it, but now he shoots for brands such as Visit Colorado, Garmin, Jackery, and RMI Expeditions. When not getting out with those companies, he explores with his girlfriend, dog, buddies and sister!

Check out his/her/their work here: You can check out all of Nate’s photography and videography (done on a Sony A7II/III and Z CAM E2-S6, respectively) on his Instagram linked below!
